Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s new luxury watch has been in the news after he was spotted in a video flaunting the rare timepiece on social media. In a recent Instagram video, netizens spotted Zuckerberg sporting the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, the world's thinnest mechanical watch, measuring an astonishing 1.7mm in thickness—about the width of two stacked credit cards.
Priced at a jaw-dropping $590,000 (roughly Rs 5 crore), the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC is a limited edition with only 20 units ever to be produced. Bulgari’s masterful craftsmanship is evident in the watch’s design, which houses 170 individual components in its ultra-thin case.
Each piece comes with a custom-designed case that not only stores the watch but also sets and winds it automatically. It is also extremely accurate - losing only 0.2 seconds each day - one of the lowest for any watch in the world.
With its tungsten carbide mainplate and titanium construction for the bracelet, lugs, and bezel, the watch redefines what is possible in mechanical timekeeping. The watch also has a COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) certification.
The Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC is also an exclusive collector’s item. Only those fortunate enough to secure one of the 20 pieces will ever own this incredible piece of engineering and design.
Just a couple months ago, Zuckerberg, one of the richest people in the world, was spotted wearing another rare timepiece at an event.
He was seen wearing the De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius Aérolite while appearing on a live episode of the “Acquired” LIVE event at Chase Center in San Francisco. The watch's retail price is estimated to be around $260,000 (Rs 2.20 crore), with only five pieces produced each year.
