Mark Zuckerberg installs massive statue of wife Priscilla in backyard: 'Bringing back Roman traditions'

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has installed a monumental sculpture of his wife, Priscilla Chan, in a gesture that has captivated social media. The 40-year-old billionaire shared images of the life-sized statue on Instagram, showcasing the artwork by renowned New York-based artist Daniel Arsham.

Arsham, noted for his innovative approach to sculpture and performance art, created the statue in bronze with a Tiffany green patina. Zuckerberg's post described the sculpture as a revival of the Roman tradition of honouring one’s spouse through art. "Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife. Thanks Daniel Arsham," Zuckerberg wrote alongside the photographs and video of the statue.

Zuckerberg and Chan, who have been married for over 12 years, have three daughters: Maxima, August, and Aurelia. The couple first met in 2003 at a college party while Zuckerberg was attending Harvard. They started dating shortly thereafter, and Zuckerberg later launched Facebook.

In a reflection on their relationship, Zuckerberg shared in a past Facebook post, “We met at a going away party my friends threw for me in college when they thought I was about to get kicked out of school. I asked her out but told her we'd need to go out soon since I might only have a few days left. Later on, I started Facebook, we got married, and now have three wonderful girls. What a wild ride.”

The unveiling of the statue has generated significant attention online. "This is beautiful and total awesome. Well done," a user wrote.
