Imagine a bath that not only cleanses your body but also calms your mind—all in just 15 minutes. Japan's latest innovation, the Mirai Ningen Sentakuki, is set to redefine personal hygiene with its AI-powered, pod-like "human washing machine." Developed by Osaka-based Science Co., this futuristic invention combines advanced technology with an emphasis on relaxation, promising to transform the way people experience bathing.

The process is as innovative as it sounds. Stepping into the capsule, which resembles the cockpit of a fighter jet, users are treated to a semi-immersive bath. Warm water fills the pod halfway before high-speed jets infused with microscopic air bubbles go to work, dislodging dirt with precision. This industrial-level cleaning technique with bubbles ensures clean skin.

Electrodes embedded in the seat monitor the user’s biological signals, enabling the AI system to adjust the water temperature and display calming visuals tailored to their mood. The result? A fully personalised experience designed to cleanse and soothe simultaneously.

The concept isn’t entirely new. In 1970, Sanyo Electric Co. introduced the first "human washing machine" at the Osaka Expo—a device that combined hot water, bubbles, and massage balls.

Among the amazed spectators was a young Yasuaki Aoyama, who would later become the chairman of Science Co. Inspired by that early innovation, Aoyama has reimagined the concept, calling it a “wellness experience.”

The Mirai Ningen Sentakuki will debut at the Osaka Kansai Expo, where 1,000 attendees will get an exclusive chance to try it. Following this public unveiling, Science Co. plans to roll out a mass-market version, targeting busy individuals seeking both efficiency and relaxation.
