With the Indian cricket team's entry into the World Cup final, fans here are making a beeline to grab Team India blue jerseys.
"The sales of the jerseys have gone up by 200% since the semi-final. We are running out of stock of team India T-shirts, but still have the ''Bleed Blue'' T-shirts," a store manager at retail outlet of Nike told PTI.
"The sales shot up before the India-Pakistan match. We sell at least 150 T-shirts daily," said Harsh Pai, a stall owner at Colaba causeway in south Mumbai.
"We manage to sell about 100-odd Sahara Team India T-shirts and caps every day. Indian and foreigners come in equal numbers to buy," Naushad Khan alias Sonu, who runs stall number at Fashion Street here, said.
"Since we would not be able to watch the match at the stadium we thought of creating the mood in our bank. So we have bought 15-20 T-shirts which we would wear to the office tomorrow," Kushal, a bank employee, said.
Even foreigners were seen buying team India T-shirts.
"I thought Australia would come in the finals. But now since they are out of the world cup I will be cheering for team India at the Wankhede stadium tomorrow," Sam Achmar, an Australian who is Director of a money transfer company, said.
