Malayalam actor Lakshmika Sajeevan died of a heart attack at the age of 24, an Economic Times report said.

Sajeevan died in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates where she was working in a bank. The actor shot to fame for her performance in the 2021 telefilm "Kaakka" in which she essayed the role of a girl from a marginalised community. Her performance as a dark-skinned, buck-toothed woman, who was neglected by her family was widely appreciated by critics and audience.

"The role was supposed to be essayed by another actor. When I landed the role, I was pretty unsure if I would be able to essay Panjami's role well. Her last Instagram post was on November 2 where she had shared a photo of a sunrise backdrop and towering buildings with the caption, "HOPE.
light despite all of the darkness."

Apart from "Kakka", some of her other notable works include "Oru Yamandam Premakatha" in which she was opposite Dulquer Salmaan, "Uyare", "Oru Kuttanaan Blog" and "Saudi Vellakka".

Sajeevan was last seen in "Koon", a psychological thriller directed by Prasanth B Molickal that was released ahead of Diwali.
