A video of Bollywood actor Nana Patekar slapping a ‘fan’ who wanted to click a selfie with him has spread like wildfire on the internet. The actor was shooting for his project with “Gadar” director Anil Sharma in Varanasi. However, the truth behind the clip has been revealed by Sharma.
In the clip that has insanely viral online, Patekar was seen wearing a brown blazer and a hat when a young man approached him with a phone in his hand, to click a selfie with the actor. However, the actor smacked the man on his head.

The viral footage was shared widely, especially on X (formerly Twitter) and social media users were absolutely furious over Patekar’s gesture.
“This is wrong of @nanagpatekar to slap the fan. It is understandable that he got excited and entered into the frame. He should have politely asked him to go away but slapping is rude,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Control Uday, control.” “Bad gesture, you can't slap. Pathetic,” a third user remarked.
However, Sharma, who recently delivered the megahit “Gadar 2”, revealed that Patekar’s slap was actually a shot from the film that was being shot. Speaking to Aaj Tak, the filmmaker said, “I have just come to know about this news. I was watching the same video just now. Nana has not hit anyone, rather that is a shot from my film. We were filming it on the road in the middle of Banaras, where a boy who comes near Nana has to be hit on the head. Shooting was going on and Nana also hit him.”
“But the crowd gathered there recorded it on their mobile cameras and then leaked the shot of the film. Now, Nana is being projected as a negative and rude actor on social media, which is completely wrong. Through Aaj Tak, I would request that the fans understand the truth of this video. This is a shot from the film. Nana has not hit anyone,” he added.
Meanwhile, Patekar was last seen in the Vivek Agnihotri-directorial “The Vaccine War”. At the trailer launch of the film, he opened up about not being a part of “Welcome 3”. “I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bahut puraane ho gaye hai (I have become outdated).”
Nana Patekar is known to star in films such as “Ab Tak Chappan”, “Welcome”, “Parinda” and “Wajood”, among others.
