Evergreen Dev remembered at memorial meeting

Bollywood denizens and fans today remembered evergreen actor Dev Anand as "flamboyant, energetic, charismatic" at the memorial meeting.

Bollywood denizens and fans today remembered evergreen actor Dev Anand as "flamboyant, energetic, charismatic" at the memorial meeting.

Those in attendance included Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, Tina Ambani, Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy, Jagdeep, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Honey Irani, Farooque Sheikh, Madhur Bhandarkar, Prem Chopra, Shekar Kapoor, Simi Gareval, Kalpana Lajmi, Abbas-Mustan, Bobby Deol, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Amrita Rao, Tabu, Bharat Shah.

The meeting was held at Mehboob studio in suburban Mumbai, where Dev had shot many a film.

"My father is happy. He is in heaven. He always wanted us to stay happy and continue doing good work. He had huge attachment towards his work. He was planning lot of films....lot of things were in the pipeline. We will continue to make good films," son Suneil said, talking to reporters.

"Dev Saab was a legendary person. He is present in the hearts of all Indians, he will remain alive in our hearts. It is a sad day that he passed away. He was a strong and charismatic personality," Aamir Khan said. Director Kalpana Lajmi called the late actor as "flamboyant, colourful, young gentleman".
