Election Commission on Friday wrote to Finance ministry and asked them to not use indelible ink in banks owing to the impending elections in several states in the coming months.

Earlier, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu told CNN-News18 that the Opposition can't digest Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic move of demonetisation to fight black money.

On Thursday, the government decided to allow dispensing of cash up to Rs 2,000 through debit card swipe at select petrol pumps from Friday in a bid to ease the cash crunch.

The facility will be available at 2,500 petrol pumps.

POS machines are the machines which are generally used for debit or credit card transactions.
