Pipili gangrape: Police arrest second accused

The crime branch of Odisha police has arrested a second accused in the horrific Pipili gangrape case. Purnachandra Swain was arrested by the Odisha police on Monday morning. So far two of the four accused have been arrested, while the other two are absconding.

The crime branch of Odisha police has arrested a second accused in the horrific Pipili gangrape case. Purnachandra Swain was arrested by the Odisha police on Monday morning. So far two of the four accused have been arrested, while the other two are absconding.

On Sunday, the prime accused Prashant Pradhan was arrested from Jatni railway station near Bhubaneswar by the crime branch.

The crime branch will produce the two arrested in the Pipili court on Monday.

The crime branch has also been directed by the Odisha High Court to give its status report on the case by Monday.

Meanwhile, the victim, who is in coma and battling for her life in the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, has been recommended by a team of specialist doctors to be shifted to New Delhi
