Bryan Johnson responds to doctor who called his longevity stance 'laughable, deluded OCD tirade'

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dr Shikhar Ganjoo dismissed Johnson’s longevity-focused lifestyle, calling it an obsessive fixation rather than an inspiring pursuit. 'The longevity rant is a laughable, deluded OCD tirade. Every word reeks of pseudo-scientific desperation, turning his life into a pompous farce. His rigid rituals are not inspiring but a miserable mockery of living,' he wrote.

The exchange stemmed from Johnson’s recent appearance on a podcast hosted by entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath.

Indian doctor Shikhar Ganjoo took aim at US millionaire and anti-ageing advocate Bryan Johnson after the latter abruptly ended his appearance on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, citing poor air quality.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dr Ganjoo dismissed Johnson’s longevity-focused lifestyle, calling it an obsessive fixation rather than an inspiring pursuit. “The longevity rant is a laughable, deluded OCD tirade. Every word reeks of pseudo-scientific desperation, turning his life into a pompous farce. His rigid rituals are not inspiring but a miserable mockery of living,” he wrote.

Johnson, known for his extensive investments in health technology and strict wellness routines, responded with a cryptic comeback: “Dr Ganjoo, how did you sleep last night?”

The exchange stemmed from Johnson’s recent appearance on WTF, a podcast hosted by entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath. What was meant to be a discussion on health and wellness took an unexpected turn when Johnson chose to leave midway, citing concerns over air quality in the recording room.

Explaining his decision on X, Johnson wrote, “During my time in India, I had to cut this podcast short due to the bad air quality. Nikhil Kamath was a gracious host, and we were having a great time. However, the room we were in circulated outside air, making the air purifier I brought with me ineffective.”

He added that by the third day of his visit, he had developed throat irritation and a skin rash, attributing both to pollution exposure. Johnson also remarked on how air pollution in India had become so “normalised” that many seemed unbothered by its presence, despite extensive research on its harmful effects.
