Bengaluru on Thursday witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall offering, on one hand, much-needed relief from the scorching heat while, on the other, causing severe waterlogging and traffic congestion across several key areas. The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued multiple advisories, alerting commuters about regions experiencing slow-moving traffic.

One of the most affected areas includes the Outer Ring Road, particularly the Marathahalli stretch, with vehicles moving at almost a snail's pace.

Amid this, citizens also took to social media to complain about Bengaluru's poor infrastructure claiming the city comes to a standstill almost every time there is a heavy shower.

Over the past 24 hours, Bengaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.6 degrees Celsius below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 20.8 degrees Celsius, Times Now reported. Humidity levels were at 69 percent in the morning and dropped to 48 percent in the evening.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and researcher Karnataka weatherman, the city is expected to receive more rain over the next five days.

"Thunderstorm alert for Karnataka: Rains ahead this week for the state including Bengaluru city till this Sunday giving much needed respite from the summer heat," the weatherman announced on X.
