As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday to inaugurate the Metro’s Yellow Line, a five-year-old’s handwritten plea has captured public attention and sparked a wave of online empathy.
Arya, daughter of Bengaluru resident Abhiroop, penned a short letter to the Prime Minister, urging him to fix the city’s chronic traffic issues. “Narendra Modi ji, there is lot of traffic. We get late to school and office. The road is very bad. Please help,” she wrote.
Abhiroop shared the letter on X, captioning it: “PM is visiting Bangalore. My 5-year-old girl sees it as her chance to finally fix traffic.” The post quickly went viral, with more than four lakh views, and several X users said they face similar frustrations while commuting daily.

“I hope he meets your daughter and her wish comes true,” wrote @MayyankK3246. Another user, @scmitra, recalled how his own daughter had written to the President 15 years ago about noise pollution in Mumbai — a letter that eventually prompted visits from local authorities. " About 15 years back, my daughter, then all of 5, wrote to the Hon' President regarding noise in Mumbai, even in late night, which disturbed her studies. Lo and behold, we had many visits from the local police station a few months after the letter was written, asking if the issue was resolved!" he wrote.
Others vented their anger over Bengaluru’s deteriorating infrastructure. “I almost got killed because of the roads from Koramangala to Indiranagar. I pay Rs 3 lakh as income tax. And all I get is the roads, which are like highway to hell,” posted @KariaJeet.
