The OnePlus 7 may only be two days old, but new enemies are popping up around every corner. After Xiaomi’s first dig at the latest OnePlus 7 handset, Asus wasted little time with a jab of its own.
With the imminent arrival of the Zenfone 6, Asus couldn’t help but poke fun at OnePlus, under a mathematical guise.

In the past, Asus has confirmed that the Zenfone 6 would feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset for unrivalled performance and improved power efficiency. The Zenfone 6 will also get a near bezel-less display without a notch. And, while there are rumours that the phone could sport a pop-up selfie camera, a sliding front camera or a rear camera that can rotate or flip when taking a front-facing photo or video cannot be ruled out.
Asus has also confirmed other details about the Zenfone 6, but let's get back to the recent tweet and what it implies. Considering Asus' tweet specifically targeted the OnePlus 7 and not the OnePlus 7 Pro, which also falls short in terms of battery life with a 4,000 mAh capacity; it could only mean that the Zenfone 6 could be competing with the OnePlus 7 in terms of specifications as well as price.
The OnePlus 7 starts at Rs 32,999 in Indian markets, and while the handset is a great bargain, it does very little on the outside to distinguish itself from the OnePlus 6T. This makes the OnePlus 7 look a tad bit dated, which is where the Zenfone 6 could offer the consumer a next-gen flagship alternative for more-or-less the same price.
