After the report, TikTok confirmed to TechCrunch that it is testing the plan but only within a single, English-speaking market outside of the US. When asked for launch plans, TikTok made no official commitments and said that tests do not necessarily mean the product will launch.

Snap Inc offers Snapchat Plus, and Elon Musk has previously said that X will expand the current premium subscription to offer an ad-free version of the platform.
