Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy Buds Live TWS earphones and the Galaxy Watch3 at the last night’s Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Watch 3 is Samsung’s latest smartwatch and can measure the blood oxygen level (SpO2) and provides blood pressure and ECG readings. The Galaxy Buds Live are the most unique-looking true wireless earbuds with a new bean-shaped design.
Galaxy Watch 3
Samsung’s latest smartwatch arrives in two dial sizes - 41mm and 45mm models. The Galaxy Watch 3 is 14 percent thinner, 8 percent smaller, and 15 percent lighter than its predecessor. The Watch 3 runs on Tizen-based Wearable OS 5.5. The 41mm model sports a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED display, while the 45mm model sports a 1.4-inch display with the same specifications. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass DX.
The smartwatch is powered by the dual-core Exynos 9110 CPU paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The Galaxy Watch 3 features an IP68 rating and a MIL-STD-810G compliant design. The 45mm variant packs a 340 mAh battery, while the 41mm comes with a 247mAh. Connectivity options on the Wi-Fi only model, includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v5.0, while the LTE model comes with eSIM support for 4G connectivity.
The Galaxy Watch 3 also has GPS on board as well as a speaker and mic for answer calls on the watch itself. Additionally, the smartwatch will get Samsung Health Monitor app that includes blood pressure (BP) monitoring and electrocardiogram (ECG) support. There is a new Trip Detection feature that will allow users to send a custom SOS alert to emergency contacts.
The Galaxy Watch 3 arrives in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic Silver. While you also get the Watch 3 in stainless steel and titanium variants. The titanium variant is limited to the 45mm model and only comes in a single Mystic Black colour option. Samsung’s newest smartwatch is offered in an LTE and Wi-Fi-only variant for both sizes. The Galaxy Watch 3 is priced starting from USD 399 (Roughly Rs 29,900) for the 41mm model, while the 45mm model starts from USD 429 (Roughly Rs 32,150).
Galaxy Buds Live
The Galaxy Buds Live features a one-of-a-kind bean-shaped design. The Buds Live can also be attached to wingtips for better ergonomics. Samsung’s latest TWS earbuds are equipped with 12mm speakers and bass duct. On the outside, you get three microphones and Voice Pickup Unit that allows two of the three microphones to locate where the voice comes from to enable better ANC when listening to music and in-call noise cancellation. The Galaxy Buds Live also come with a low-latency Game Mode.
The Buds can deliver anywhere between 5.5 to 8 hours of battery life depending on your use case. The battery life can be extended to a total of 20 hours with the case. Quick charge support gives you one hour of playback with a 5-minute charge. The Buds Live will also work with any Qi wireless charger. Each Bud weighs 5.6 grams while the case adds another 42 grams. The Buds Live also feature touch controls along with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
The Galaxy Buds Live will be available in Mystic White, Mystic Black, and Mystic Bronze colour options. The Galaxy Buds Live are priced at USD 169 (Roughly Rs 12,700) in the US.
