When it comes to smart glasses, Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses have been around for a while. Not exactly mainstream but Meta has been pushing it with new upgrades and features. The social media giant has revealed that the Ray-Ban smart glasses now come with unveiling new AI capabilities, video calling features, and new styles.

Last year, Meta launched its second-generation smart glasses, while lacking a built-in display, integrated a camera, microphones, and speakers to enhance users' experiences with practical tools.

Enhanced functionality through new features

Users can now make video calls using WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger directly through the glasses' camera. This feature, currently undergoing a phased rollout, promises to facilitate point-of-view sharing during conversations.

Meta's AI technology has been integrated into the glasses for multimodal analysis. Users can leverage the camera to prompt Meta's AI for contextual understanding of their surroundings. This beta feature, available to all owners of the glasses in the US and Canada, has been in testing since late last year.

Alongside functional upgrades, Meta Ray-Ban glasses are debuting new styles. The "Skyler" frame is now open for pre-orders, offering users more options to suit their preferences. Additionally, a new low-bridge version of the Headliner style has been introduced, further expanding the glasses' appeal.

Interested customers can pre-order these new styles through Meta's online store and Ray-Ban's official website. Select styles of Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses are also available for purchase from retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, making them more accessible to consumers.
