Apple’s iOS 18 is less than two months away from its official unveil at the 2024 Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). We have already seen several leaks and rumours of the new iOS 18 features, with the Notes app in iOS in the spotlight now. Apple is expected to introduce Gen AI features with iOS 18, and now it has been revealed that the Notes app may also benefit from this.
Apple Notes in iOS 18According to a report by Apple Insider, Notes is set to become even more feature-rich when Apple announces iOS 18 in June at WWDC. Th report claims two new features will be included in the Nots apps, which include audio recording support built in at the application level, similar to integrated Voice Memos, alongside Calculator integration.
With a built-in recording feature, iOS users will be able to record, save, and play audio clips within the Notes app. The Notes app will also let users add images or text memos with its audio recording feature. Notes users will be able to add screenshots within their voice recordings or memos.
As far as Calculator integration in the Notes app, users will be likely able to create or solve complex mathematical calculations within the Notes app. However, the availability of types of calculations is still unknown.
The Apple Insider report also highlights that these new features will be similar to Microsoft’s OneNote functions.
Rumours suggest that iMessage, Siri, Apple’s iWork suite — Numbers, Pages, Keynote — are all expected to get a generative AI boost.
