AI in Google Chrome: How to use Chrome’s new artificial intelligence features

With the prevalence of AI in various applications, the focus has shifted from merely having advanced AI technology to integrating it seamlessly into everyday apps. Google Chrome recently integrated AI capabilities into its platform, aiming to enhance the browsing experience with smoother, sleeker, and more personalised features.

To access these AI features, it's important to update your Google Chrome browser to the latest version. Once updated, follow these steps to enable Chrome's AI features:

Step 1: Click on the three vertical dots located in the upper-right corner of your Chrome browser

Step 2: Navigate to Settings

Step 3: In the left-hand menu, locate the Experimental AI section

Step 4: Toggle the desired AI features to the "on" position

Chrome's AI capabilities offer three main functions: creating themes, organising tabs, and generating text.

Google Chrome offers a wide array of themes but now they come with a dash of AI. Follow these steps to craft your own theme:

Step 1: Open a new tab in Chrome

Step 2: Select "Customise Chrome" in the bottom right corner

Step 3: In the sidebar, click "Create with AI"

Step 4: Describe your desired theme in the text box

Step 5: Choose a style, mood, and colour

Step 6: Click "Create"

Chrome will generate a selection of AI-based themes based on your input, allowing you to preview and apply your preferred option. The Inspiration tab provides additional AI-generated themes for creative inspiration, and your recent themes are saved for future use.

Chrome's AI helps manage tab overload by organising similar tabs into labelled groups based on context. To organise tabs efficiently, follow these steps:

Step 1: Right-click any Chrome tab

Step 2: Select "Organise similar tabs" from the menu

Step 3: Change the tab group's name and then click on "Create group"

Step 4: Chrome will label and organise your tabs accordingly, streamlining multitasking and improving workflow efficiency

Google Chrome's AI extends to text generation, allowing you to compose text directly within any text field. Here's how to use this feature:

Step 1: Right-click within any text field in Chrome

Step 2: Select "Help me write"

Step 3: Enter a prompt describing your desired text

Step 4: Click "Create"

Step 5: Chrome will generate the text based on your prompt, which you can directly insert into the text field. Modify the text as needed using the provided Length and Tone options
