The phone will feature AI 2.0 technology, notch screen, dual-rear cameras and will be powered by Huawei Kirin 970 processor.
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor will be launching the Honor 10 globally on Tuesday. The phone will be sold exclusively on Flipkart and will go on sale from 00:00 hours on May 16. One can click on the 'Notify Me' tab to be notified when the sale begins.
The launch event will take place in London at 2 PM local time (06.30 PM IST) and will be live-streamed across the globe on the company's Facebook page and on Honor's YouTube channel.
The company hasn’t made the price of the device official as yet. However, it is widely speculated that the phone will be priced at around Rs 35,000. At this price point, the phone will be pitted against the much anticipated OnePlus 6, which will be launched on May 16, a day after the Honor 10.
The phone is already available in China, which means its specs are already in the public forum. The Honor 10 will be quite different from its predecessor, the Honor 9, and will sport a notch display similar to that of the iPhone X.
Coming to the features of the phone, the Honor 10 has borrowed heavily from the recently-launched Huawei P20 phones. As mentioned earlier, the highlight of the phone remains the iPhone X-like notch display.
The artificial intelligence-enabled phone will have a metal frame and a glass back. It will feature a 5.84-inch IPS Full HD+ LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Along with the notch at the top, Huawei has stuck with its fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the display.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 970 processor and a Mali-G72 MP12 graphics processor. The phone runs on Huawei’s EMUI 8.1, which is based on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
The phone will be available in three variants. While the most affordable model will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the more expensive ones will have 6GB of RAM and a storage of either 64GB or 128GB. Unfortunately, the phone's memory will not be expandable.
The Honor 10 will feature a dual-rear camera setup with a 24 megapixel + 16 megapixel sensor combination. The sensors have an aperture rate of f/1.8 and features such as face detection, autofocus, and LED flash, among others. The cameras are capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second.
At the front, the phone will feature a massive 24 megapixel sensor. The camera will have an aperture rate of f/2.0 and is capable of recording Full HD videos. The rear cameras and the front camera will both be AI-enabled.Other features of the phone include dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Type-C 1.0, USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, accelerometer, infrared port among others. The phone is powered by a 3,400 mAh Li-Po battery and will come in Mirage Purple, Mirage Blue, Magic Night Black, and Gray Gull colours.
