Rovio, Lucas Films partner to release Angry Birds Star Wars

Another edition of the Angry Birds franchise titled Angry Birds Star Wars is in the offing.

Recently, Rovio appeared to be planning a version of Angry Birds based on Star Wars as it teased an image on the official Angry Birds Tumblr page showing the red bird dressed in a Jedi cloak and armed with a lightsaber. A recent report has shed some light on the Star Wars based Angry Birds by stating that the brands will team up to offer a range of toys, games, other merchandise. Also, another edition of the Angry Birds franchise titled Angry Birds Star Wars is in the offing.As per a report published on Lohud.com, “In Angry Birds Star Wars, a totally new edition of the game out Nov. 8 for iOS, Android and computers, the birds and pigs alike will take on the personalities of characters from the Star Wars saga. "They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters," says Paul Southern, vice president of licensing and consumer products marketing for Lucasfilm Ltd. "They are characters in their own right."Lohud reports further that the Big Red will be modelled on Luke Skywalker from Star Wars Episode IV. Chewbecca, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi have found spin-off as the birds in the game. The bad guys -- the pigs -- are obviously modelled on Darth Vader and the entities on the "dark side".
