June 13 is when the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will reveal the new set of gTLDs or generic top-level domain names. The batching process is currently in process where ICANN divides and evaluates the entries they've recieved in batches. The online batching system was launched on June 8. The announcement will take place at a news conference in Kings Place, in London. President and Chief Executive Officer Rod Beckstrom will be joined by Senior Vice President Kurt Pritz in answering questions from London-based journalists as well as those from around the world. The new gTLD program is one of the most substantive changes to the Domain Name System (DNS) in the Internet’s history and will bring about some very interesting domains that will suit the purpose and content of existing and new websites better.
