How do I install Ubuntu on my desktop?

How does one install Linux to run Ubuntu on their desktop PC? - Mudassir

Hi. I have been hearing a lot about people using Linux and I have also heard that most new laptops are shipping with the Linux Operating System. I am interested in installing Linux and I want to know how I can install Ubuntu on my computer system. I have an Intel Pentium P IV processor running at 3.0 GHz and an 80GB SATA HDD as the storage.
