Facebook is most visited website of the year

Facebook has topped the charts this year for being the most visited website, leaving a trail of social networking dust and Google in second place.

One would think that Google would be the world's most popular website, being the mother of all search engines and all; but no. Experian Hitwise has been up to a little research, and has analyzed the top 1000 search terms for 2010. According to their figures, Facebook has topped the charts this year for being the most visited website, leaving a trail of social networking dust and Google in second place. The tables have figuratively been turned, as Google was in number one position last year and Facebook in second. Among the top 50 terms, Facebook accounted for 3.48 percent of all searches in the US. This indicates a 207 percent increase when compared to last year.
