With volatility in the near-term continuing, prices may move up but will largely remain range bound, says Vikas Halan, Vice President and Corporate Finance Group at Moody's Investors Service.
"We estimate that IBREL made collections of over Rs 7 billion in the quarter ended December 2015, which was nearly double the amount it achieved in the quarter ended September 2015," Moody's Vice President and Senior Credit Officer Vikas Halan said
According to the statement, Moody's expects upstream oil and gas companies to benefit from a lower fuel subsidy burden although low crude and domestic natural gas prices will continue to hurt profitability.
It further said that weak global cues and an impending US rate hike may also have an impact on Indian businesses.
Developers will not reduce price to boost sales, rather will continue with their strategy to reduce apartment size and offer freebies, Moody's Investors Service said. However, the agency said that "solid economic growth" would give some support to housing sales, while gradual easing of lending rates would boost investment activity.
In separate statements issued on Wednesday, the two global agencies said that after the stake sale, the government will continue to hold a majority stake of 58.57 percent in IOC. The government on Monday sold 10 percent stake in IOC through an offer for sale and raised over Rs 9,300 crore.
As per Moody's, although Lodha achieved sales of Rs 7,800 crore in 2014-15 against an expected Rs 8,000-8,500 crore, sales mix did not support high cash collection levels.
Moody's has, however, retained its Ba3 rating on the company's recent USD 350 million overseas bonds, issued by its subsidiary Lodha Developers International.
According to Vikas Halan, credit spreads can‘t be more than 500 basis points for more than five year paper and the use of proceeds are also restricted.
Credit rating agency Moody's in a recent note has said that it expects credit profile of OMCs to improve over the next 12 months on the back of falling crude prices and subsidy burden.
