Chairman of the foundation Abhay Kulkarni said the hub will have information about traffic rules, management through books, video/audio CDs/DVDs. It will also have a car driving simulator for teaching driving technique to people learning driving.
The sum of Rs 620 crore is in addition to the Rs 400 crore sanctioned earlier under the same head, a State Government release said.
Speaking about his recent visit to the American west coast, which is the global hub of hi-tech innovations, Gadkari said he spent quality time with the officials of Tesla, which is also founded by Musk, who is known for his futuristic ideas.
The Sagarmala project aims at "port-led development" in the country, he said, speaking to reporters here after inauguration of various works undertaken by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
His ministry has so far awarded road projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore, he said.
At the meet, Vinod Dasari, President of SIAM, also relayed his thoughts on the recent ban on registration of 2000cc+ cars in New Delhi, pointing out that less than 20 percent of pollution actually comes from auto emission in the city and he wishes the myth that cars are polluting India is dispelled.
"The works would cost the exchequer nearly Rs 3,000 crore. Gadkari has sanctioned a sum of Rs 2,873.15 crore for the construction and broadening of various roads and construction of bridges in Yavatmal district extending to 768 kms," Yavatmal MLA Madan Yerawar told reporters.
Gadkari also said the bill for developing 101 river stretches as waterways would be passed in the Parliament session this month, and that the work on developing the 1,620 km-long waterway between Varanasi and Haldia has begun. "I am not showing any dream to you.
