Lamborghini is set to unveil its first fully-electric vehicle concept at the Monterey Car Week on August 18, signalling an entry into the silent era for the 'Raging Bull'.
Lamborghini, which sells a range of super luxury cars with prices starting from Rs 3.16 crore in India, had recorded its best-ever sales in the country in 2021 at 69 units, beating its previous record in 2019 when it sold a total of 52 units.
In a discussion for CNBC-TV18‘s Forbes India Show, Menaka Doshi spoke with the marquee carmaker‘s veteran CEO, Stephan Winkelmann.
"In 2011, the customs duty was 60 percent and the basic customs duty now is 100 percent, which ranges up to 167 percent ... this is what the main burden we have (for selling their cars in India," Lamborghini's President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said
