All aviation industry participants including airlines, the aviation ministry, safety regulator and pilot bodies have agreed to implement the FDTL norms from July 1 in a phased manner, but some new aspects are still under discussion which will likely be rolled out from November 1, 2025.
The extent of the suspension isn't final yet, and the pilots involved have been grounded till the DGCA conducts an inquiry into the incident, sources told Moneycontrol. As per a preliminary report, the regulator had issued a show cause notice to both the pilots after the incident.

A senior DGCA official also cautioned airlines against scaremongering, adding that "the new duty norms are based on empirical data, and balance the industry’s growth as well as safety concerns."
