Implementation of labour codes deferred beyond April 1 : Report

Twenty nine central labour laws governing occupational safety, minimum wages, and social security have been consolidated into four codes
Employers to constitute a negotiating council if no union enjoys majority support

The labour codes also recognise and formalise the concept of fixed-term employment wherein the employers across sectors can now engage workers for shorter and fixed duration.
BMS demands the cap on earned leaves to be raised to 300 days from the proposed 240

BMS raised the demand during the consultation meeting held by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment today on draft Rules on two Labour Codes viz. Social Security Code rules and OSH & WC Code Rules.
