There is trouble for former Gujarat Women and Child Development Minister Maya Kodnani as the Special Investigation Team probing the 2002 riots will move the Gujarat High Court seeking death for her in the Naroda Patiya massacre case. The approval for this was given by the legal department of the Gujarat government.
A special court on Friday sentenced former Gujarat minister Maya Kodnani to 18 years in prison for her role in one of India's worst religious riots, television channels said.
A trial court in Gujarat has convicted 32 people and acquitted 29 others in the Naroda Patiya massacre case which took place during the 2002 Gujarat riots.
