Muromachi took over the Japanese laptops-to-nuclear conglomerate last July after his predecessor and a slew of other top executives resigned for their roles in the country's biggest accounting scandal in years.
A senior Indian government official told Reuters earlier this month that the country expects to seal a contract with Toshiba's US nuclear unit Westinghouse to build six nuclear reactors in the first half of next year.
Toshiba, whose businesses range from laptops to nuclear power, is undergoing a restructuring after revelations this year that it overstated earnings by USD 1.3 billion going back to fiscal 2008/09.
As part of its overhaul, Toshiba has launched a new management team, which won approval from shareholders on Wednesday.
