Need to change definition of Indian company in Companies Act: CEAI former president to PM Modi

Consulting engineers Association of India (CEAI) former president K K Kapila has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying there is an urgent need to change the definition of Indian company in the Companies Act to make the country self-reliant.

"The Ficci Infra Committee on various occasions has written to Union Minister of Finance, but to no avail. Our request to the Prime Minister is the service tax payable by the employer of a consultant should be collected by the government directly from the employer," the panel said in a statement.
