    Adani Defence and Swedish company, SAAB have partnered to make the Gripen fighter plane in India. In an exclusive conversation with CNBC-TV18's Rituparna Bhuyan, SAAB India Chairman said that 51 percent equity is a must in defence for foreign companies to transfer their technology to Indian partners.     The global CEO of SAAB Hakan Buskhe who is in India currently said, we will be able to offer the best technology to India and are keen on supplying fighter jets to IAF.

    Foreign fighter jet makers see opportunity in India after the scaled back French deal. Narendra Modi on April 10 announced that India would buy 36 French Rafale jets for an estimated USD 4.3 billion, in effect ending talks on a larger deal for 126 planes that would have sucked up some USD 20 billion.
