These small commercial vehicle offerings will cater to the transportation needs of agriculture, poultry dairy, FMCG, e-commerce and logistics sectors.
The company expects a better business environment this fiscal even as chip shortages continue to making it challenging to cater to the enhanced demand.
The commercial vehicles segment, which saw its peak in 2018-19, with industry volumes of over 10 lakh units, went into a downturn in the following two fiscal years, has begun to pick up momentum from the last financial year.
The vehicle comes with various features including a multi-function steering wheel, dual air-conditioning, anti-lock braking system and electronic brake distribution. Tata Motors had launched the Safari SUV in 1998 and the company has so far sold over 1.20 lakh units in the domestic market.
The company, better known for its cars in the taxi segment, is trying to overcome a "unique social perspective (in India) that a brand which does well in the commercial market, nobody wants to buy for personal usage segment".
