On January 6, the Congress announced its 'Pyaari Didi Yojana,' promising a monthly monetary grant of Rs 2,500 to women, if it is voted to power. Two days later, the party announced its 'Jeevan Raksha Yojana,' under which it promised to provide free health insurance of up to Rs 25 lakh.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, poor families receive 5 kg of food grains each month.
Ramesh said the party has sought time from the Election Commission, but will also file an online complaint against the prime minister's announcement to the poll body, urging it to act against the PM.
The scheme to provide 5 kg of wheat and rice free of cost to 80 crore poor every month, which was ending on Friday, will now run through December 31.
Till now the government has spent approximately Rs 2.60 lakh crore on PM-GKAY and will spend around Rs 80,000 crore in the next six months.
This is the CM's first decision in second term that impacts 15 crore people
