MIAL gets relief as tribunal rejects taxing development fee

The Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) got a relief as the customs, excist and service tax appellate tribunal (CESTAT) rejected service tax department's demand to tax development fee as it was a service being rendered.
Flying out of Delhi will be cheaper from January 1

Flying out of Delhi would become cheaper from January 1, with the development fee (DF) charged by the operator of IGI airport being reduced by Rs 100 for domestic and Rs 700 per international passenger.

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority's (AERA) has decided to halve Airport Development Fee (ADF) for all passengers departing Delhi airport. This will be effective from January 1.
