As campaigning for the Tripura election comes to an end, with all preparations for the February 16 polls in place, we bring to you an analysis of candidates vying for an Assembly seat.
A total of 259 candidates, 22 of them women, are in the fray for the 60-member Tripura House. The ruling BJP has fielded candidates in 55 seats and shared the rest with the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT).
The CPIM is contesting in 43 seats, while its ally Congress has fielded candidates in 13 seats. Regional party TIPRA Motha has given candidates in 42 constituencies, while Trinamool Congress is fighting in 28 seats.
