In the wake of the recent Lok Sabha election results, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held two significant meetings with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday in Gorakhpur. Bhagwat has been in the city since Wednesday, engaging in various discussions and events, The Indian Express reported.

According to sources as quoted by The Indian Express, Adityanath first met Bhagwat in the afternoon at a school in the Campierganj area, where Bhagwat was attending a meeting and an RSS event. Later in the evening, around 8:30 pm, the Chief Minister visited the Saraswati Shishu Mandir in the Pakkibagh locality for a second closed-door meeting with the RSS chief. Both meetings reportedly lasted about 30 minutes each.

A senior BJP leader from Gorakhpur, with a longstanding association with the RSS, informed The Indian Express that Bhagwat’s visit was not routine but specifically aimed at addressing the BJP's performance in Uttar Pradesh. Despite the party's previously perceived strong position, the results indicated a setback, prompting these discussions. Since arriving on Wednesday, Bhagwat has conducted several meetings with RSS office-bearers, receiving detailed reports on the election outcomes.
