Two senior women officers of the Indian armed forces — Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi — jointly briefed the media alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Wednesday on the recently conducted Operation Sindoor.
Under Operation Sindoor, Indian armed forces struck at least nine terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Vyomika Singh presented the official details of India's cross-border operation and the objectives achieved during the mission.
Who is Wing Commander Vyomika Singh?
- Wing Commander Vyomika Singh's journey in the Indian Air Force (IAF) began when she was in school as she wanted to fly.
- Singh joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and later completed her engineering. She was the first person in her family to join the armed forces.
- Vyomika Singh was commissioned as a helicopter pilot in the IAF and received a permanent commission in the branch on December 18, 2019, according to a report by the Economic Times.
- She has logged more than 2,500 flying hours and has operated helicopters like the Chetak and Cheetah in some of the toughest terrains, including Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast.
- One of the major rescue operations she led was in Arunachal Pradesh in November 2020.
