A Senior Process Associate at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the 25-year-old had a history of self-harm, he blamed his wife for harassing him within a year of marriage, reported Economics Times. The Video
Before hanging himself, he posted a nearly 7-minute video on social media. In the video he broke down while urging the society to “think and talk about men” as they are “lonely” due to the heightened societal expectations and pressures.
Sharma held his uneven marriage responsible for his circumstance and found that this was the only solution he saw fit.
He further accused his wife Nikita of making false allegations and expressing a desire to live with her boyfriend.
"Let me share my story, though it’s not unique. There are many like me. I discovered that my wife was involved with another man. But what can I do? It doesn’t matter anymore, like Atul Subhash," he said in a video.
Addressing his concerns towards the legal system asking the authorities to recognise the struggles of men. “This message is for the authorities—the police, the legal system. Men need protection too. If things continue this way, there will come a time when men won’t be left, when there will be no one left to take the blame," a Economics Times report quoted him as saying.
Sharma's wife denies claims
Nikita has denied the allegations leveled by Manav in the video, and claimed that Manav had previously attempted suicide, reported ET. She claimed that Manav had alcohol addiction and had assaulted her multiple times, adding that her concerns were ignored by her parents.
