'While bullets flew in Pahalgam...': Milind Deora hits out at Uddhav Thackeray over Europe vacation'

Calling Uddhav Thackeray as “part-time neta,” Deora said that Maharashtra needs “warrior on duty.”

Uddhav Thackeray is under fire as Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora questioned the timing of former CM’s Europe vacation. In a post on X, Deora said that Thackeray and his family were holidaying in Europe when “bullets were flying in Pahalgam.” Calling the Thackerays “tourists of India,” Deora took a dig at the Shiva sena (UBT) leadership over their silence on the worst terror attack on Indian soil since 2008 Mumbai siege.

In comparison, Deora said, Maharashtra’s deputy CM Eknath Shinde “led from the front.” Shinde honoured the victims of Pahalgam terror attack. Not only Pahalgam attack, Thackerays also said nothing for Maharashtra Day. “No statement. No solidarity. No shame,” Deora said in his X post. The lawmaker termed this as “luxury politics.” Calling Uddhav Thackeray as “part-time neta,” Deora said that Maharashtra needs “warrior on duty.”

The statement comes days after the Maharashtra government announced Rs 50 lakh compensation for the victims of the terror attack. the carnage in Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 men, most tourists has triggered fresh round of tensions between India and Pakistan.

While India has taken several diplomatic measures including suspending the critical Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistan is fearing a military incursion. On Sunday, Islamabad announced that it will ban all sorts of imports from New Delhi in a tit-for-tat step.
