Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said that he would continue to work with CM Siddaramaiah as a team and he has invited him for breakfast on December 2.

Shivakumar tweeted, “Me and the CM continue to work together as a team. I have invited the CM for breakfast tomorrow to discuss and strengthen our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to Karnataka.”

On November 29, after meeting with Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar posted on X, “We abide by the High Command. Today, I and the Hon’ble Chief Minister had a breakfast meeting. The CM will be coming to my house for lunch or dinner in the next few days as well. We have joined together and worked together. The workers of the state have supported us, and the people of Karnataka have blessed us with a massive mandate. Whatever promises we have given to the people, it is our bound duty to deliver them.”

Amid the ongoing power tussle and speculation over leadership change in Karnataka, both leaders stuck to their positions during the meeting.

Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah have already met once at the latter's residence for breakfast on Saturday and they are likely going to do the same again, on Tuesday, this time at the residence of the KPCC president.  After the first meeting, both leaders gave a message of unity and said there are "no differences" and everything is fine. But politicians do not meet with so much spectacle if everything is alright.

The Congress which has the recent examples like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Haryana — where the party suffered major blows due to lack of clarity and too much factionalism within the organisation — cannot afford another State  another State slip away from its hands. There are aspirations of local MLAs as well. This period of indecision adds to their frustration, especially for those who are set to get tough fights in their constituency.
