A road collision in Rajasthan’s Bansur spiralled into a dramatic gunfight between two rival groups, with the entire sequence captured on CCTV, police said on Friday. The shootout reportedly involved three bikers and the occupants of a Mahindra Thar and a Maruti Swift, vehicles that witnesses said had been racing alongside the motorcycles moments before the clash.
According to the cops, both groups were familiar with one another and had a history of hostility. CCTV footage shows the Thar and the Swift veering toward the motorcycles and knocking them off the road, states an NDTV report. Almost immediately, men from the cars stepped out and opened fire. The bikers responded with gunfire of their own, turning the road into a brief battlefield.
In the footage, the Thar is seen attempting to run down the bikers while the Swift trails closely, cutting off escape routes. Amid the chaos, a bank employee identified as MP Gurjar, who was present at the spot, also fired shots at the attackers, according to officials.
As per witnesses'āccount, the bikers eventually bolted into a nearby house, which likely saved them from being hit. Before leaving, the attackers smashed the motorcycles and sped away.
The gunfire sent residents scrambling for cover.
