A luxury Audi allegedly driven by a school student crashed into two cars in Jaipur on Tuesday, injuring two people, media reports said. The teenager, who told police he is the son of Congress MLA Rajkumar Sharma, allegedly became aggressive at the scene and threatened the victims, according to a first information report (FIR).
The accident took place near Maharana Pratap Circle, when the speeding Audi, reportedly moving at around 150 kmph, rammed into a Maruti Swift, pushing it onto a divider. The Swift’s driver, Pulkit Pareek, and his friend sustained injuries in the collision.
Pareek told NDTV that he was on his way to deliver blood from a blood bank for his brother-in-law when the crash occurred. Pareek said that the Audi came from behind at a very high speed and hit his car. The impact pushed the car onto the platform over the divider, he said.
He added that both he and his friend were taken to the hospital, where he received seven stitches on his head. They were later discharged after treatment.
According to the FIR filed by Pareek, the Audi driver appeared to be around 15 or 16 years old. After the collision, the teenager allegedly got out of the car, turned aggressive, and told the victims to “take some money and get the car repaired.” Pareek also alleged that the boy identified himself as an MLA’s son and tried to intimidate them.
Police said the Audi’s airbags deployed on impact after a collision with other cars. One of the other cars damaged in the accident left the scene, and its driver did not file a complaint, the news report by NDTV said.
NDTV further reported that Pareek has been called to the police station on Wednesday to record his full statement. He has demanded strict action against the underage driver.
