Stryker Corp., the US-based medical technology company, has opened a new 140,000-square-foot research and development facility in Bengaluru, its second major hub in the country after Gurgaon.

The Whitefield centre will house cross-functional teams and advanced labs focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and product security, the company said Thursday. It also includes a medical experience center to showcase life-saving solutions such as ICU beds, stretchers, ambulance cots, and automated external defibrillators.

“We’re growing with purpose—expanding our capabilities to innovate, collaborate and deliver solutions that address the needs of our customers and patients worldwide,” said Ram Rangarajan, Vice President of Stryker Global Technology Center. “The advanced labs will allow us to work closely with healthcare professionals, unlock valuable insights, and accelerate innovation,” he added.

Stryker sees India as a strategic hub for talent and medtech innovation. The company already operates a 220,000-square-foot R&D campus in Gurgaon, and the new facility strengthens its footprint in a market that combines deep engineering expertise with growing healthcare demand.

Stryker, which impacts more than 150 million patients annually through its MedSurg, Neurotechnology, and Orthopaedics businesses, is betting on India’s digital and AI capabilities to drive its next phase of growth.
