Spicejet cancels flights to and from six cities till May 10 amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, issues advisory

India launched Operation Sindoor on the intervening night of May 6 and 7, in response to the deadly terror attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives on April 22.

Spicejet has issued advisory about flight cancellations

Spicejet has issued an advisory informing the public that flights to and from five cities have been cancelled till 5:29 am on May 10. These cities include Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Kandla, Dharamshala and Jammu.

This comes amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan.

"Important Travel Update: Due to the ongoing situation, our flights to and from Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamshala, Kandla & Amritsar are cancelled till 0529hrs 10th May ’25.

Please visit our website or log in to our mobile app to check your flight status before leaving for airport," Spicejet said in an X post.

Earlier in the day, several airports had been shut owing to the security situation, especially in border areas. Various airlines had also issued advisories informing people of flight cancellations and impacts.

On May 7, hours after Operation Sindoor was launched in Pakistan by India, more than 200 flights were cancelled and around 18 airports were shut for civilians, keeping in mind the security situation.

Several border areas have been evacuated and civilian movement has been restricted following the tense security situation between the two neighbouring countries.
