Sunder Nagar’s bungalow market has a new entrant, and another multi-crore price tag.
South Delhi resident Ashok Mittal has bought a property worth about Rs 65 crore in Delhi’s Sunder Nagar, one of the capital’s most expensive bungalow pockets, documents accessed by real-estate data analytics firm CRE Matrix showed, Hindustan Times reported.
The bungalow sits on an 866 sq yd plot. The purchase was split across two transactions registered on October 31, 2025, the documents showed.
Mittal bought the ground and basement floors, spanning 4,846.88 sq ft, for Rs 34 crore, paying Rs 2.38 crore in stamp duty, according to the papers reviewed by CRE Matrix.
He also purchased the first floor, measuring 3,118.62 sq ft, for Rs 31 crore, with an additional Rs 2.17 crore in stamp duty paid for that transaction, the documents showed.
Mittal could not be reached for comment, Hindustan Times said.
Sunder Nagar has seen a series of big-ticket bungalow trades in recent years. Last year, a 900 sq yd bungalow in the area sold for close to Rs 100 crore, while another 867 sq yd property was reportedly sold for around Rs 96 crore, local brokers told Hindustan Times.
Brokers active in the locality said Sunder Nagar continues to attract senior lawyers and business families. Most bungalows in the area are about five decades old, typically built on plots of roughly 800 sq yd, with ground and first floors plus a barsati level. Built-up areas usually range from 6,000 to 8,000 sq ft, brokers told Hindustan Times.
Recent reported deals include former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi and his wife Vasudha selling a Sunder Nagar bungalow for Rs 100 crore to Vikram Goyal in 2024, and Metropolis Healthcare MD Ameera Shah buying a 9,896 sq ft bungalow for Rs 64 crore in 2022, Hindustan Times reported.
No further details on Mittal’s plans for the property, including financing, occupancy, or redevelopment, were available from the documents accessed.
