Global aerospace major Rolls-Royce and Aditya Birla Group’s Hindalco Industries held separate meetings with Karnataka industries minister MB Patil in Bengaluru to discuss expansion plans in the state.
Patil met senior leadership from Rolls-Royce, including global director Phil Priest and India business services head Tom Kandrikal. “We had in-depth conversations on their investment plans and discussed Karnataka’s robust aerospace and defence ecosystem,” Patil posted on X.
The minister said that company appreciated the state's advanced technological environment, progressive industrial policies, and long-term vision. Rolls-Royce has also invited the minister to visit its Bengaluru facility as part of ongoing engagement.
The meeting came a day after the Karnataka government dropped a proposed land acquisition in Devanahalli for the defence and aerospace park after farmer protests. Patil clarified that land is available for industrial use across the state and assured investors of continued support. “We are now a globally recognised industrial destination,” he said.
Rolls-Royce India wrote on X that it was “honoured” to host Patil and looks forward to welcoming him to their Bengaluru office soon.
In a separate meeting, Hindalco chairman Vivek Valson and CEO Saurabh Khedekar met Patil in Bengaluru. Discussions focused on the company’s future plans in Karnataka. “Hindalco’s global leadership in aluminium and copper makes them a strong partner in our mission to grow Karnataka’s manufacturing ecosystem,” Patil wrote on X, adding that the state's investor-friendly policies and sectoral potential were highlighted during the interaction.
