One of the hot seats of the Delhi assembly elections, Rohini, will surely be a contest to watch for between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). This constituency number 13 of the Delhi Legislative Assembly is a general seat. Rohini comes under Northwest Delhi district of Delhi State. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress are the main parties in the state.

The demographics of Rohini

As per the Election Commission, there were 182979 voters in the Rohini constituency during the 2020 Assembly Elections. Out of this, 95302 were male and 87665 were female voters.

In 2015, the total number of voters in the Rohini constituency was 174600. Out of this, 91328 voters were male, 83262 were females.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections, BJP candidate Vijendar Gupta won with a margin of 12,648 votes, securing 62,174 votes (53.67%) and defeating AAP’s Rajesh Bansiwala, who received 49,526 votes (42.75%).

In the 2015, Delhi Assembly Elections, BJP Candidates Vijendar Gupta won the seat. He was polled 59866 votes with a vote share of 49.83%. AAP candidate CL Gupta got 54499 votes (45.36%) and stood on the second place.

BJP’s sitting MLA, Vijender Gupta, has represented Rohini for 10 years and has been the leader of the opposition in the outgoing assembly. He will be trying his luck to make a hattrick this time, while AAP’s Pradeep Mittal, is standing strong to turn the winds in his favour.
