Over 200 developmental projects worth Rs 30,923 crore are in the offing in Ayodhya.

A man from Uttar Pradesh sold his land to donate Rs 1 crore for the construction of the Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya. Siyaram, a resident of Pratapgad was the first to donate for the construction of the Ayodhya temple. He has been invited to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22.

As a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist, Siyaram made the donation in October 2018. To raise the necessary funds, he sold 16 bigahs of land and borrowed Rs 15 lakh from relatives. He successfully donated the full amount of Rs 1 crore on November 20, 2018. His donation aligns with the Supreme Court's verdict to build the Ram Mandir, announced on November 9, 2019

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is slated to visit Ayodhya to take stock of preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the temple town on December 30, officials said. The CM will first visit the Hanumangarhi temple and pay obeisance to Lord Hanuman. Following this, he will have a "darshan" of Ram Lalla and then inspect the ongoing construction work of the Ram temple, a senior official told PTI. Watch here.

Before the day of the consecration, the government of Uttar Pradesh has planned recitations of the Ramayana and the Hanuman Chalisa in prominent temples across the state. This drive will begin on January 14 and continue till January 22. The state government and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust came up with an outline of religious programmes, and the elaborate consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple is currently being arranged.

After the Supreme Court's verdict in 2019, the Central government established the "Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra" Trust to make all decisions regarding the construction of the temple, in compliance with the court's ruling. On August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone, officially commencing the construction. The architectural concept for the Ram Mandir, with some modifications made in 2020, is based on a design created in 1988 by the Ahmedabad-based Sompura family.

According to News18, by 2024, Uttar Pradesh’s temple town Ayodhya may witness the “biggest transformation in the history of the ancient city”. Apart from the ongoing construction of the Ram Temple, over 200 developmental projects worth Rs 30,923 crore are in the offing.
