A striking replica of the Ram Mandir is set to captivate spectators during the India Day Parade in New York on August 18. The event, which draws thousands of Indian Americans, will feature the 18-foot-long, nine-foot-wide, and eight-foot-tall model.
According to Amitabh Mittal, general secretary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA), this marks the first time the Ram Mandir replica will be displayed in the United States. The annual India Day Parade, organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), is the largest celebration of India's Independence Day outside India.
More than 150,000 people typically attend the parade, which runs from East 38th Street to East 27th Street in Midtown New York. This year, the parade will feature a variety of floats representing Indian American communities and showcasing a diversity of culture. Prior to the parade, VHPA-A conducted a Ram Mandir Rath Yatra across 48 states in 60 days, visiting 851 temples.
